Newsletter 09/06

Parents and Guardians,
I hope you all had a fantastic Labor Day weekend. School is already starting to fly by. We have lots planned for this week.

Important Dates:
Open House: THIS THURSDAY, September 8th from 5-6.

Spelling Words: sigh, right, weigh, eight, detail, height, spray, braid, bait, grain, slight, thigh, tight, raisin, trait, highway, frighten, dismay, freight, and sleigh.
Bonus Words: eighteen, mayonnaise, campaign, daylight, and twilight

Vocabulary Words:
docks- platforms built on the shore or out from the shore; wharves; piers
migrating- going from one region to another with the change in seasons
scan- to glance at; look over hastily
wharf- platform built on the shore or out from the shore beside which ships can load or unload
yearned- felt a longing or desire
scent- a smell

Grammar Focus: Imperative and Exclamatory Sentences. Imperative- gives a command. Exclamatory- it shows a strong feeling or surprise and usually ends with an exclamation mark.

Scholastic Book Orders are due at the end of September. You can order online using my code: PBRG3 or you can turn in the book order at school with cash or check.
